Loans arranged for Tarbela Dam’s ‘fifth’ extension

World Bank (WB) Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan in a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday informed that loans from International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have been arranged for Tarbela Dam’s “fifth extension” hydropower project.

Alok calls on Sartaj, expresses satisfaction over ESD

Marvi to President: BISP’s BVS secures 9 districts

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon in a meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday brought to later’s attention that BISP’s Biometric Verification System (BVS) for payments has been initiated in 9 districts and that in 2017 BISP aims to completely shift its payment mechanisms to BVS.

APHC Chairman bemoans Sopore massacre

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman Syed Ali Gilani recalling the Sopore massacre of January 6, 1993, said on Wednesday that Jammu and Kashmir has hardly witnessed such a barbaric and inhuman incident and not only Kashmiris but anybody with a human heart can never forget it; Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.
