Video calling ‘invitation’ on WhatsApp “risks privacy exposure”

Taking note of “malicious message invitations” relating to ‘activation’ of “video call” feature at WhatsApp (a popular messaging app), Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications Ministry on Sunday issued a “web user advisory” to inform the general public about the ‘scam’ which could mean “exposure of personal and call data” to malicious elements, an official statement said.

A sigh of relief for Germany as Yemeni 48-hours ceasefire begins

Despite the announcement of a 48-hours ceasefire in Yemen, the fighting only fully ceased in parts of the country on Saturday; the fact that the number of gunfights appear to have gone down on Sunday gives us some cause for hope, German Foreign Ministry’s statement said.

Ban Ki-moon hopes for inclusive and sustainable African industrialisation

United Nations (UN) General Secretary (UN-SG) Ban Ki-moon on Sunday said, “Over the last two decades, Africa’s combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew annually by an average 4.7 percent” asserting “Africa is also a youthful continent, with a median age just below 20” urging “To realise the vision of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, of a prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development, the continent must annually create millions of new, high-productivity jobs.”
