Dar refuses OGRA on decreasing petrol/diesel prices



  • Finance Minister, Senator, Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday announced to maintain the petrol and diesel prices, despite that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended a decrease; an official statement said.

Kashmiris have a right to live without fear and repression: COAS



  • Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Line of Control (LOC) at Haji Pir sector on Sunday, whereat he stated, "The Kashmiris have a right to live without fear and repression" assuring "We will always stand by their rightful political struggle for the right to self determination and recourse to basic human rights"; an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.

Ghani says time for peace is running short



  • In a frank heart-to-heart meeting, spanning over five hours, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani told Pakistani National Assembly (NA) speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday that time for peace in the region was running short; an official statement said.

IOK observes complete shutdown on Sunday



  • In Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), complete shutdown was observed across the territory, on Sunday, against the killing of an elderly civilian, Muhammad Yousuf Butt, by Indian troops in Kupwara district; Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.

PM Nawaz pays tribute to workers on Labour Day



  • Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, in a statement, for today said, "Labour day is celebrated all over the world on May 1 to honour the workers, for their long and arduous struggle" adding "The day provides us an opportunity to recognise and pay tributes to the contribution the workers have made towards progress, prosperity and well-being of their respective countries."

Erdogan arrives in India



  • Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in New Delhi on Sunday, whereat he was welcomed by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Vijay Goel along-with India's Ambassador to Turkey Rahul Kulshreshth and Turkey's Ambassador to India Sakir Ozkan Torunlar; an official statement said.
