Pak-Iran views on Jerusalem are same

ISLAMABAD: Iranian defence minister brigadier general Amir Hatami telephoned defence minister Khurram Dastgir Khan on Thursday, wherein both agreed that recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel by United States (US) violates international understanding and has ever since destabilised the Middle East; an official statement said.

According to detail, Khan demanded, “Muslim ummah must unite in order to resist foreign intervention in Islamic countries, and thus to take charge of their own security.”

Both discussed increasing unrest in the region and agreed to hold frequent consultation to assess the situation.

Hatami termed the recent visit to Tehran by chief of army staff (COAS) general Qamar Javed Bajwa as a turning point, in defence relations between Pakistan and Iran.
