India is victimising IIOJK women to suppress freedom struggle
By KMSFriday – November 27, 2020
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), KTK chairperson Habib in a statement, issued in Srinagar, in connection with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women said that Kunanposhpora gang-rape, rape and murder of Aasiya and Neelofar in Shopian and Aasifa Bano in Jammu are the glaring examples of how India is using rape as a weapon of war in the occupied territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
She added that the presence of Indian troops in the occupied territory was a serious threat to regional peace and security. KTK chairperson Habib appealed to the United Nations (UN), United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), European Union (EU) and China to prevail upon India to desist from trampling over the human rights, withdraw its troops from IIOJK and force it to stop its brutal policy of suppressing the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.
ITA chairman Inqalabi in a statement, issued in Srinagar, urged the international human rights’ organisations including Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW), to take cognisance the grave human rights’ violations by Indian troops.
He pointed out that violence against women by the Indian troops was on the rise in IIOJK.
He said that thousands of women have been martyred by the Indian troops and many more, including Aasiya Andrabi are still languishing in different jails of IIOJK and India, are being subjected to constant mental and physical torture.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the ITA in a statement, issued in Srinagar, said that Indian police raided the residence of party chairman Inqilabi but he was not present as he was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Srinagar.
Separately, in another inhuman action, Indian troops held several civilians hostage and used them as human shields during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Narwa village of Pulwama district, on Wednesday. The locals said that the troops barged into houses in the village and held inmates hostage as human shields till they finished door-to-door searches.
It is worth mentioning here that on April 9, 2017, a Kashmiri youth, Farooq Ahmad Dar, was also trussed to the spare tyre at the front of a jeep as human shield by Indian army officer, major Leetul Gogoi, and was driven on a five-hour journey through several villages at the head of an army convoy in Badgam district.
Instead of taking the officer to task, India awarded the major a medal, which speaks volumes about what is really happening in IIOJK.
Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Muhammad Safi and Syed Faiz Nashbandi have arrived in Niger to participate in the organisation of Islamic cooperation (OIC) council of foreign ministers (OIC-CFM) meeting, being held in Niamey.
Safi and Naqshbandi were invited by the OIC to attend the meeting as true representatives of the Kashmiri people
Meanwhile, two persons were critically injured after they were deliberately hit by a speedy Indian army vehicle in Jammu City.
Furthermore, two Indian soldiers were killed and several others injured in an attack in HMT area of Srinagar, Thursday. In another incident, A central reserve police force (CRPF) man was injured after his service rifle went off inside a camp in Humhama area of Badgam district.
On the other hand, in what is the second such incident in last one week, four more Kashmiris have gone missing in Indian capital city New Delhi.
