According to Kashmir media service (KMS), Farooq Abdullah was interacting with his party workers at his Gupkar based residence.
Expressing anguish over the use of Indian flag by BJP activists during a rally to defend a rapist, Abdullah held that this rally shows the nature of communalism in the region.
He expressed shock over the increasing attacks on IOK students in Indian states. He urged upon different state governments to ensure safety and security of these students.
During his interaction, a delegation from Ganderbal district said that the authorities were hell bent to shift central university from Ganderbal to some other place. Abdullah assured them that he will take up the issue with the Indian government.
Meanwhile, Hindu ekta manch, the political alliance of Hindu extremist organisations, announced to boycott the Gujjar Muslim community.
The announcement came after the arrest of two special police officers Deepak Khajuria and Surinder Verma in rape and murder of Gujjar girl Asifa.
The ekta manch asked people to stop the purchase of milk products and livestock from Gujjar Muslims.
