Aman-2021 culminates with Aman Formation

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the president Arif Alvi graced the occasion as the chief guest. The chief of naval staff (CNS) admiral (Adm.) Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi received the president on board PN ship (PNS) Moawin.
The exercise culminated with traditional ‘Aman formation’ to signify unity and collective resolve.
President Alvi observed operations manoeuvres, drills, fly past by PN, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and foreign aircrafts followed by man and cheer-ship.
He congratulated PN for successfully hosting Aman-2021 and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve of regional peace and security.
President Alvi thanked the participating navies, who despite COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic displayed commitment to collaborative maritime security.
CNS Adm. Niazi thanked the president for gracing the event and assured that PN will continue to play active role for peace and security in the region.
The federal ministers, Sindh chief minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah, chairman joint chiefs of staff committee (CJCSC) general (Gen.) Nadeem Raza, chief of army staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, chief of air staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Mujahid Anwar Khan, ambassadors, high commissioners, senior military officers, defence and naval attaches from various countries witnessed the exercise.
Earlier on Monday, according to an ISPR press release, during the ongoing multinational maritime exercise Aman-2021, CNS Adm. Niazi was called on by Iran’s southern fleet commander commodore Arya Shafaqat, Iraq’s director of naval operations centre brigadier Wael Abdul Mohsin Shayyin, Nigerian navy’s deputy hydrographer commodore Sunday Daniel and Palestinian navy’s area commander commodore Hazem S.N.Abu Hannoud in separate meetings.
Matters of defence collaborations and maritime security were discussed during the interactions.
CNS Adm. Niazi thanked the dignitaries for participation in multinational naval exercise Aman-2021 to enhance the collaborative efforts for peace and maritime security while highlighting PN’s initiatives for ensuring maritime security and peace in the region through regional maritime security patrol (RMSP) and regular engagements with other countries.
The visiting dignitaries highly appreciated and acknowledged PN’s efforts and commitments in support of collaborative maritime security in the region and conduct of 7th multinational maritime exercise Aman-2021.
Besides, the three-days international maritime conference (IMC-2021) organised on the theme of ‘Development of Blue Economy under a Secure and Sustainable Environment: A Shared Future for Western Indian Ocean Region’ by national institute of maritime affairs (NIMA) under the auspices of PN has culminated at Karachi.
The foreign minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi graced the closing ceremony as chief guest. CNS Adm. Niazi was also present at the event.
While addressing the IMC audience, the FM praised PN for promoting maritime awareness in the country, spearheading efforts for the development of blue economy and taking various initiatives to ensure peace and order at sea individually and in collaboration with regional and extra regional navies.
CNS Adm. Niazi in his closing remarks thanked all the speakers, panelists and participants and also commended efforts of NIMA for successful conduct of the event.
The conference included an array of prominent speakers who delivered addresses during the conference presenting their dynamic thoughts over theme of the conference.
On Monday, according to a press release, FM Qureshi addressing IMC-2021 said, “The number of participating navies in the multilateral maritime exercise Aman-2021, which have increased from 28 in 2007 to over 45 this year, the successful conduct of Aman-2021 is a manifestation of Pakistan’s abiding commitment and contribution to the promotion of international peace and security.”
