  • SRINAGAR (Indian Occupied Kashmir): In Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), Indian troops while continuing their State terrorism acts, have martyred a Kashmiri youth and injured another in Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Saturday evening; Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.

Youth identified as Sajad Ahmad Waza, resident of Tangamarg, was shot dead by Border Security Forces' (BSF) personnel, who were passing through the area.

An Indian police officer said that BSF is involved in the incident. He said the BSF has taken a route that is usually not permitted for the paramilitary forces.

The incident has triggered sort of a crisis in Batamaloo. People have closed their businesses and are actively protesting on the roads. Indian troops fired tear gas shells at many places to disperse the crowd.

The body was received by a huge gathering from Sri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital and taken towards Nawab Bazar. The mourners are on way to Batmaloo, witnesses said.
