NTDC says power supply to Quetta stands restored

LAHORE: National transmission and despatch company (NTDC) spokesperson, in a statement on Thursday, announced that power restoration works on towers that had collapsed, during the first week of June in Balochistan’s Dera Murad Jamali, have been completed and as a result power supply to districts of Balochistan including Quetta has been restored.

The statement said that power supply to districts of Balochistan including Quetta has been restored after completion of rehabilitation work of two towers of 220 kilovolts (kV) Uchi- Sibbi and Guddu-Sibbi transmission lines.

The tower were collapsed due to heavy wind storm in the area of Dera Murad Jamali during the first week of this month, NTDC spokesperson said.

The NTDC, statement asserted that, engineers and staff remained committed round the clock for restoration of towers of both circuits 220 kV Uch-Sibbi and 220 kV Guddu-Sibbi, in hot weather conditions as well as security hazardous areas.

NTDC managing director (MD) Fiaz Chaudhry appreciated the NTDC engineers and staff for restoration of destroyed towers and stable supply to Quetta electric supply company (QESCO) area in Balochistan.

NTDC MD Fiaz thanked contractors and the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for their services and cooperation for completion of rehabilitation work of damaged towers.
