SAMSUN (Turkey): Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday grieved that the wave of attacks on national security and economy have not ended and that the valiant Turkish nation is foiling one by one the traps set against Turkey both at home and abroad.

According to an official statement, Erdoğan underscored that the underlying cause of the smear campaign targeting Turkey in the international arena is the Turkish nation’s determination to maintain its one-thousand-year presence in its geography.

Noting that the Turkish nation dates back thousands of years, Turkish president underlined that there is no disgrace of genocide or colonialism in its track record.

Stating that the incidents that have taken place in the past six years have pushed Turkey to allocate its energy and resources to the solution of crises, president Erdoğan stressed that Turkey, nonetheless, remains committed to its goals for 2023, the centenary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey.

He was speaking at the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s arrival in Samsun and the start of Turkey’s national struggle.
