Turkey says Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan

BAKU (Azerbaijan): Turkish foreign minister (FM) Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Azerbaijan, Tuesday, to show the support and solidarity of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation.

According to an official statement, Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu had a fruitful meeting in the capital city with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

He emphasised that the Nagorno-Karabakh belonged to Azerbaijan, that the world should stand by those who are right, in this case Azerbaijan, that Turkey will defend the rightful cause of Azerbaijan everywhere, and that the Turkish nation will always stand by Azerbaijan at times of joy and in sorrow, today and forever.

On the same day, Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu was received by Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and conveyed him the best wishes and support of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

He stated that Turkey was one nation with Azerbaijan, that Turkey could also act together as one State if necessary, and that Turkey meant Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan meant Turkey.

Following the meeting, the two foreign ministers held a joint press conference.
