Telenor to serve internet in Dadu, Jamshoro and Thatta

ISLAMABAD: The Information Technology and Telecommunication (IT-T) minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Monday awarded contract to Telenor in respect of Next Generation Broadband for Sustainable Development (NG-BSD) for Dadu lot comprising of unserved and underserved areas in districts of Dadu, Jamshoro and Thatta.

According to an official statement, Siddiqui chaired the 63rd board of directors (BoD) meeting of Universal Service Fund (USF) whereat the meeting confirmed the minutes of the 62nd BoD meeting of the USF.

The meeting also approved award of contract to Telenor in respect of NG-BSD NH and MW lot-2 (N-25 and N-65) and NH and MW lot-3 (N-50 and N-70).

The board also approved award of contract to Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (PMCL) in respect of the South Waziristan lot.

IT-T federal secretary Maroof Afzal was also present in the meeting.
