Somalia seeks help in countering terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Somalia advisor to president on foreign policy Balal Mohamed Cusman accompanied by the Somalian ambassador Khadija Mohammad Al-Makhdoomi called on national security advisor (NSA) lieutenant general (R) Nasser Khan Janjua on Thursday, Al-Makhdoomi said that Pakistan has great capacity to tackle internal security problems and that Somalia wants to learn from the experiences of Pakistan in this regard.

According to an official statement, they discussed matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation and security. Al-Makhdoomi expressed her desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in multiple areas including trade, human resource development, defence and security.

Janjua responded that Somalia is a country of great fortune and strategic importance and agreed to enhance mutual cooperation to boost bilateral relations.

They reiterated to work together in close collaboration in all the fields and also to learn from each other experiences.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the improving trajectory of bilateral relations.
