Senate chairman wants broader cooperation with the EU

ISLAMABAD: The senate chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Thursday, termed the cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union (EU) as significant, emphasised the need to further broaden the scope of mutual collaboration in different sectors.

According to a press release, the senate chairman Sanjrani expressed these views during a meeting with the EU ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara at parliament house, in the federal capital.

The EU ambassador Kaminara briefed the senate chairman about the development cooperation, which is acting as the driving force behind EU’s bilateral relations with Pakistan.

Senate chairman Sanjrani said that Pakistan is keen to enhance mutual cooperation with the EU and strengthen institutional collaboration through enhanced linkages at parliamentary level.

“We place our bilateral relationship with the EU parliament at a high esteem,” he remarked and grieved that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has created huge problems for the EU, offered his condolences on the loss of precious human lives.

The EU ambassador Kaminara agreed with the views of senate chairman Sanjrani, emphasised for more cooperation and institutional linkages.
