President wishes for an integrated e-governance platform

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi emphasised the need for setting up an integrated government database to enhance the efficiency of public sector organisations, Monday, expressed the hope that electronic (e) governance platform will allow government organisations to deliver the next-generation public services.

According to a press release, he stated this while chairing a meeting on sub-committee on emerging technologies on e-governance, in the federal capital.

Highlighting the importance of e-governance, president Alvi said it will facilitate citizens, ease businesses, expand the formal economy, boost information technology (IT) industry and provide the transparent, accountable and efficient government.

He underscored the need to promote e-governance so as to make Pakistan the frontrunner in good-governance through modern IT solutions.

The meeting was attended by advisor to the prime minister on institutional reforms and austerity (A-PM-IRA) Ishrat Hussain, IT and telecommunications (ITT) secretary Shoaib Siddiqui along-with senior officials of the ITT ministry.
