President says PN provide security to CPEC routes

ISLAMABAD: While talking to the chief of naval staff (CNS) admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Thursday, president Arif Alvi said that Pakistan Navy (PN) plays a vital role in defending the maritime frontiers, as well as securing the economic interests by providing security to Gwadar port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) sea routes.

According to an official statement, the newly appointed CNS admiral Niazi called on president Alvi, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, in the federal capital.

President Alvi congratulated him on assuming the office of CNS.

He expressed the hope that PN, under the leadership of CNS admiral Niazi, will successfully overcome the maritime challenges.
