President asks IIUI to enhance online learning

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi underscoring, Thursday, the increasing importance of online education, to the newly appointed International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) president Hathal Hamoud Al-Otaibi, said that online contents of the knowledge needs to be enhanced as distant learning is cost-effective and easily accessible.

According to a press release, president Alvi stated this during a meeting with the IIUI president Al-Otaibi and ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al Malkiy, who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, in the federal capital.

The president said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its cordial relations with the KSA and wants to further expand bilateral ties with the brotherly country for the mutual benefit of the two sides.

Congratulating Al-Otaibi on his appointment as president of the IIUI, president Alvi expressed the hope that the university will progress further under his leadership.

He asked IIUI president to develop and strengthen international linkages between IIUI and reputed foreign universities including those in the KSA.

IIUI president Al-Otaibi said that he will follow merit and run the affairs of the university in accordance with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
