People to offer Salat-e-Tauba, today

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the council of Islamic ideology (CII), led by its chairman, Qibla Ayaz, held a meeting with president Arif Alvi, Thursday, the meeting urged the people to resort to Allah to seek His blessing by offering two rakat Salat-e-Tauba today.

According to an official statement, it was also decided that religious affairs and interfaith harmony (RAIH) minister Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, will deliver Jumma (Friday) khutba at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, today, and hold a prayer to seek Allah’s forgiveness, with extremely limited gathering and ensuring preventive measures.

It will be telecasted live.

The meeting discussed the existing situation arising out of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic whereat the ulema gave various suggestions to deal with the situation.

The ulema advised the people to seek forgiveness and repentance in individual prayers at their homes, which could help save humanity from the current catastrophe.

The president urged the ulema to play their role in creating awareness about the preventive measures against coronavirus.

The meeting was attended by RAIH minister Qadri, national health services regulations and coordination (NHSRC) ministry secretary Tanvir Ahmad Qureshi, interior ministry secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, along-with a number of ulemas.
