Parliamentarians raise IIOJK cry

ISLAMABAD: The national assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser said, on Monday, the Indian army has been brutalising the Kashmiris since over 7 decades and that the united nations (UN) and other international organisations have failed to save them from the suppression.

According to an official statement, he expressed these views while addressing the seminar on “piecing peace together for a shared future for humanity,” organised by the Kashmir committee, to observe the international peace day.

NA speaker Qaiser urged the international and regional organisations to take notice of the stark violations of human rights in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) along-with the Palestine.

He appreciated the initiatives taken by the chairman of parliamentary Kashmir committee and expressed confidence in the chairman to highlight the issue of Kashmir at every forum.

NA speaker Qaiser reminded that Islam stresses upon propagation of peace in the entire world and said that the last prophet Muhammad ( is a symbol of peace and tranquility. 

He remarked that the hegemonic designs have put the world-peace at stake and mentioned that the world and regional peace is at stake due to unresolved issues of IIOJK and Palestine.

NA speaker Qaiser stressed on the regional and world organisations to resolve the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and in accordance with the united nations security council (UNSC) resolutions.

Addressing the seminar, national food security and research (NFSR) minister Syed Fakhar Imam said that the regional peace and resolution of the Kashmir issue are interlinked.

He added that the prime minister (PM) Imran Khan’s dream of peace and prosperity will ensure peace in the country as well as in the world.

The Kashmir committee (KC) chairman (KC-C) Sharyar Afridi said that the world has realised the violations of the basic human rights in IIOJK and reminded that the movement of Kashimiri people for self-determination has entered into its logical point and that soon the world will recognise the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people.

He reiterated that nothing can suppress the just freedom movement of the Kashmiri people.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) president Sardar Masood Khan highlighted the Indian brutalities on the Kashmiri people in the IIOJK and resolved that the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris cannot be suppressed by the brutalities and atrocities of the Indian armed forces.

He reminded that the Kashmir and Palestine issues needed to be resolved through peaceful means, in order to bring peace and tranquility in the region and beyond.
