Pakistan shoots down Indian quadcopter

RAWALPINDI: An Indian quadcopter airspace violation (QAV) occurred in Sankh sector along the line of control (LOC), Thursday, the blatant act was aggressively responded to by Pakistan army troops shooting down the Indian quadcopter.

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, in this provocative act, the Indian quadcopter intruded 600 meters inside Pakistan’s territory for conducting surveillance.

Such unwarranted acts by the Indian army are a clear violation of established norms, existing air agreement between the two countries and reflects Indian army’s consistent disregard to the ceasefire understanding of 2003.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the security forces conducted two separate intelligence based operations (IBOs), during the last 24 hours, on confirmed information of terrorist hideouts, in North Waziristan and Mohmand, at least 7 terrorists were killed during the IBOs.

According to an ISPR statement, in North Waziristan, the security forces carried out an IBO in village Idel Khel on credible intelligence information of presence of terrorists.

At least four terrorists were killed as they were trying to escape the cordon. A cache of arms and ammunition were recovered.

In another IBO on a terrorist hideout in Mohmand, three terrorists were killed. The improvised explosive devices (IEDs), night vision sights, extremist literature and “Indian origin medicines” were recovered.
