

Pak-India military teamwork vital for regional peace: SCO

Wednesday – August 29, 2018According to an official statement, the meeting was marked with chiefs of general staffs inking relevant documents.
The chiefs of general staff from Pakistan, China, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Belarus exchanged views on topical issues of regional security and to improve military cooperation, as well as discussed the implementation of decisions of the heads of the military departments of the SCO.
During the meeting, Gerasimov offered the chiefs of the general staffs of the SCO member states to take part in the humanitarian operation in Syria, where a wide range of practical cooperation is possible such as in mine clearance, joint patrolling, humanitarian assistance and infrastructure rehabilitation.
Gerasimov noted, “The SCO countries have unified priorities for mutually beneficial cooperation, regional stability and security.”
The meeting took place during the joint military counter-terrorism exercises of the SCO peace mission-2018.
