PM lauds OIC condemnation on illegal domination of IIOJK by India

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet met on Tuesday and exchanged views with regard to recent 47th session of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Islamophobia, Covid-19 (coronavirus), oxygen supply in hospitals and gave approval to pending decisions.

According to a press release, prime minister (PM) Imran Khan chaired the session, in federal capital, of the federal cabinet.

The foreign minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed the federal cabinet with regard to representation of Pakistan in 47th session of OIC.

The forum was informed of condemnation by all OIC member states to illegal domination of IIOJK by India.

As per the vision of PM, international community was preached with regard to the sensitivity of ensuring the honour of Prophet Muhammad (peace.be.upon.him) prevails and on the notion of Islamophobia.

PM Khan said Islam directs us to honour and respect all religions, in the same way we expect the followers of all religions to ensure the dignity and honour of our last Prophet Muhammad (peace.be.upon.him).

He advised, the followers of all religions, to realise their act does not infringe upon the religious emotions, spirits of Muslims especially with regard to the personality of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace.be.upon.him).


PM Khan stressed dialogue on international level is necessary to ensure elimination of Islamophobia.

The special assistant to PM (SAPM) on national health services, regulations and coordination (NHSRC) Faisal Sultan informed the federal cabinet of rising Covid-19 cases, the second wave is proving to be lethal as it in a day led to deaths of 89 people, there has been a rise in Covid-19 cases in all cities countrywide.

PM Khan held Covid-19 pandemic should not get politicised as it endangers human lives, the prevalent health system cannot afford the spread of disease.

He took notice of oxygen availability in hospitals on which directed for abundant oxygen supply, directed hospitals to clarify the procedures in this regard.

The industries and production minister (IPM) Hammad Azhar informed the federal cabinet of the promise by industries that use oxygen to supply hospitals with their required oxygen in time of emergency.

The forum was informed of the availability of three times higher oxygen stockpile compared with the daily need.


The federal cabinet gave approval for appointment of chairman and executive director in State Life Insurance Corporation (SCLIC).

The forum gave approval to hand out Rs. 2,500 monthly allowance to those armed forces personnel who possess or will possess recognised master of philosophy (mPhil) degrees, the civil personnel already avail the facility.

The finance ministry presented before the federal cabinet the federal and provincial financial records of fiscal year (FY) 2014-15 and FY2017-18 after getting them verified by the controller general of accounts (CGA).

It was informed that a comparative analysis will be provided in the next cabinet session.

The forum gave approval to allocate provincial quota for admission in dentistry programme of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University Islamabad (SZABUI).
