New CAS Anwar calls on PM Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed chief of air staff (CAS) air chief marshal Mujahid Anwar called on prime minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday, Abbasi congratulated Anwar on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed the hope that Pakistan air force (PAF) will greatly benefit from his professional capabilities and leadership.

According to an official statement, professional matters pertaining to PAF came under discussion. CAS Anwar thanked PM Abbasi for reposing confidence in him and assured that he will perform to the best of his abilities for further strengthening air defence of the country.

Separately, CAS Anwar called on defence minister Khurram Dastgir on Tuesday, Dastgir wished him every success in taking PAF forward as a 21st century guardian of the nation’s air frontiers.

He congratulated the new CAS on his appointment and discussed the current strategic environment and security challenges facing the country. Dastgir offered his full support to the new CAS on indigenisation, modernisation, and advanced training operations of PAF.

CAS Anwar assured Dastgir that PAF was fully vigilant on all frontiers of the country and will God willing prevail against all adversaries as Pakistan’s first line of defence.
