NA speaker wants smaller dams to cover water/energy needs

ISLAMABAD: The national assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser was apprised, Monday, of Bada dam’s expected completion this year located in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to a press release, the senior officers of KP irrigation department called on NA speaker at the parliament house in the federal capital.

He emphasised for timely and efficient completion of the project in the best interest of the common people.

NA speaker Qaiser said the small dams are imperative for increasing level of underground water.

He said the major segment of the population is linked with agriculture sector and smaller dams will enhance the water availability.

NA speaker Qaiser recommended utilising public money keeping in view the best exchange value.

He stressed on the need to protect the interest of local areas.

NA speaker Qaiser assured to fully support the KP government for construction of small dams.
