Meeting deliberates transfer of KE shares to SEP China

ISLAMABAD: A high level meeting, Tuesday, discussed the transfer of K-Electric (KE) shares to China’s Shanghai Electric Power (SEP) and deliberated on related issues.

According to a press release, privatisation minister Mohammed Mian Soomro co-chaired the meeting, in federal capital, with petroleum minister Omar Ayub Khan.

It was resolved by the participants that all out efforts will continue for timely and meaningful progress in the matter.

The meeting was attended by special assistant to prime minister (SAPM) on petroleum Nadeem Babar, SAPM on power Tabish Gohar, privatisation secretary Hassan Nasir Jamy, KES board chairman Shan Ashary, KE chief executive officer (CEO) Syed Moonis Alvi and senior officials of KE/KES power and privatisation ministry.

China’s SEP also participated via zoom and discussed their continuing interest and terms.
