KSA ambassador calls on COAS

RAWALPINDI: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki called on chief of army staff (COAS) general Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Thursday, matters of mutual interest including regional security situation were discussed.

According to inter services public relations (ISPR) statements, in continuation of ongoing Pak-KSA bilateral security cooperation, Pakistan army contingent is being sent to KSA on training and advise mission.

These, or troops already there, will not be employed outside the KSA.

Pak army maintains bilateral security cooperation with many other gulf cooperation council (GCC) and regional countries.

Separately, COAS directed for facilitation to tribal brethren in federally administered tribal areas (FATA) by ending the “watan cards” earlier issued as identity (ID) document for payment of compensation to temporary displaced persons (TDPs).

Henceforth computerised national identity card (CNIC) will be taken as the ID document.

Those without CNIC can use watan cards till May 31st, 2018, and obtain a CNIC by then.
