Iranian navy commander Khanzadi visits Pakistan

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statements, upon arrival at Karachi, the dignitary visited Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum and laid floral wreath.
Later he visited various facilities of PN including PN war ship, PN academy, marines training unit and various other facilities at PN dockyard. Briefings were given on each site to the visiting dignitary.
Iranian navy commander Khanzadi along with delegation members also visited joint maritime information coordination centre (JMICC) and was briefed about roles of JMICC.
The dignitary expressed interest in the facility and appreciated the concept of JMICC to enhance mutual interaction in order to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, during his meetings with Karachi commander and coast commander matters of mutual interest and bilateral naval collaboration were discussed.
It is expected that current visit of Iranian navy commander will greatly augment the bilateral cooperation between both the countries in general and two navies
Separately, on Monday, Khanzadi visited the naval headquarters, in the federal capital and called on chief of the naval staff (CONS), Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi in his office.
Upon arrival at naval headquarters, the visiting dignitary was received by CONS. A smartly turned out contingent of PN presented the guard of honour. The dignitary laid floral wreath at the martyr’s monument and was introduced to the principal staff officers at naval headquarters.
Later, Khanzadi called on CONS in his office, during the meeting, various matters of regional maritime security and stability and mutual interest including bilateral naval collaboration were discussed.
The CONS highlighted Pakistan’s commitment and performance in fight against terrorism and PN’s contributions for ensuring maritime security and peace in the region.
The naval chief thanked the visiting dignitary for participation of Islamic Republic of Iran Navy in AMAN-19, a multinational maritime exercise hosted by Pakistan.
Khanzadi appreciated the role and contributions of PN in maintaining peace and stability in the region and successful conduct of Exercise AMAN-19. Both the dignitaries agreed on further enhancing mutual interactions in diversified naval domains.
A brief was also given to the visiting dignitary on PN’s perspective on security situation in Indian ocean region and PN’s contributions towards peace and stability in the region.
The dignitary was briefed about the plight of Kashmiri people in the backdrop of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, and Pakistan’s continued support to the just and rightful struggle of Kashmiris.
It is expected that the visit of Iranian navy commander shall further promote the existing bilateral cooperation between both the countries in general and navies in particular.
