India martyrs youth in Pulwama

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Goosu area of the district.
The operation continued till last reports came in. Earlier, an Indian soldier was killed and three others were injured in an attack in the same area.
Meanwhile, several people were injured after Indian troops fired pellets and teargas shells on demonstrators protesting against the killing of the youth in the area.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown will be observed, today, to mark the fourth martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his two associates, who were martyred by Indian troops on July 8 in 2016 in the territory.
Call for the strike has been given by the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar paid rich tributes to Burhan Wani and the martyrs of July 13, 1931.
Burhan along with his associates, Sartaj Ahmad and Parvez Ahmad was extra-judicially martyred by Indian troops in Kokernag area of Islamabad.
The veteran leader asked the people to observe the July 8th as a “Day with Martyr’s Family,” today, in their localities.
He also urged people to observe complete strike on July 8 and July 13 and offer tribute to martyrs by holding prayer meetings at martyrs’ graveyards across occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the APHC while paying tributes to Burhan Wani in a statement also called for a protest strike across occupied Kashmir, today, to convey a message to the world particularly the United Nations (UN) that the people of Jammu and Kashmir completely reject forcible occupation of their motherland.
The APHC said that the July 8th will be observed as Youm–e-Istiqlal (Freedom Day) to reiterate the Kashmiris’ resolve that they will continue their struggle for right to self-determination through thick and thin.
A youth organisation Warseen-e-Shuhada through its posters called for a march towards Tral, the hometown of Buran Muzaffar Wani, on his martyrdom anniversary, today.
Meanwhile, posters were also pasted by an organisation, Tehreek-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir in several parts of Srinagar asking people to hold functions, today, to memorise Burhan Muzaffar Wani in their respective areas due to the coronavirus pandemic.
