Incumbent spends Rs.50b to uplift tribal districts

ISLAMABAD: The prime minister (PM) Imran Khan was briefed, Monday, on package specific to the tribal districts wherein Rs 50 billion has been spent on development projects including health, education, infrastructure and others so far.

According to a press release, the high level meeting was chaired by the PM in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) capital city Peshawar.

PM Khan directed the provincial government to give top priority to the development of the tribal districts and to complete the development projects at earliest.

He said that the zealous citizens of the tribal districts have made tremendous sacrifices for the country.


The PM was also briefed on net hydel profits from the federation to KP.

KP governor Shah Farman, KP chief minister (CM) Mehmood Khan, KP finance minister Timur Saleem Jhagra, KP chief secretary, inspector general (IG) police and senior officers were present.

The federal ministers Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Asad Umar, Umar Ayub Khan, Faisal Wawda and special assistant Tabish Gohar participated through video link.
