In last two weeks, 16 terrorists killed, five soldiers martyred: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: As the nation, hand in hand with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and the armed forces, battles against the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19), enemies of Pakistan have begun again with the aim to sabotage, nonetheless, the armed forces of Pakistan are constantly on alert and are, one after another, averting all terrorist plans.

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, on Sunday, the security forces conducted an intelligence based operation (IBO) on credible information about presence of terrorists in Khaisura and Dossali areas of North Waziristan district late last night.

During sanitisation of the area, exchange of fire took place between terrorists and the security forces, resultantly, 9 terrorists got killed while one was apprehended, whereas, two soldiers embraced martyrdom and five got injured.

Among the martyred soldiers are lance naik Abdul Waheed, aged 29 years, hailed from village Raj Kandi, tehsil and district Muzaffarabad, was married, had three sons and a daughter.

The sepoy Sakum Dad, aged 33 years, hailed from village Bandi Awan Tajawal, Changla Gali, Abbottabad, was married and is survived by one son and a daughter.

During search of the area, weapons and ammunition were recovered.

According to an ISPR statement, on April 20, 2020, terrorists carried out fire raid on security force’s check post, 10 kilometres (kms) west of Miranshah, North Waziristan.

The troops effectively engaged the terrorists, five terrorists got killed.

During the exchange of fire, one soldier embraced martyrdom, while three soldiers got injured.

The martyred soldier havaldar Akbar Hussain Khan was 43 years old, a resident of tehsil Dir Kot, district Bagh, was married, had four children two sons and two daughters.

The troops cordoned the area and carried out the search operation.

According to an ISPR statement, on April 14, 2020, the security forces spotted movement of terrorists in North Waziristan.

As soon the quick reaction force (QRF) cordoned off the area, the terrorists opened fire.

The lance naik Irshad Khan, aged 26 years, married, resident of Jamrud, Khyber embraced martyrdom.

According to an ISPR statement, on April 13, 2020, the security forces spotted movement of terrorists in Dargai, 8 kms north-west of Datta Khel, North Waziristan.

As the QRF cordoned off the area, terrorists opened fire in order to flee.

During the exchange of fire, two terrorists killed, whereas, one soldier naik Adil Shahzad, aged 32 years, resident of Village Karer, Mansehra embraced martyrdom.

The martyred soldier is survived by wife and a son.
