ITTM Haque reports a surge in ITeS

ISLAMABAD: The information technology and telecommunication minister (ITTM) Syed Amin-ul-Haque said, Wednesday, steps are being taken to increase information technology (IT) exports, adding that IT and IT enabled services (ITeS) export remittances comprising of computer services and call centre services surged to $379.251 million at a growth rate of 43.55 percent during first three months (July - September) of fiscal year (FY) 2020-21, in comparison to $264.187 million during first quarter of FY 2019-20.

According to a press release, the ITTM visited telecom foundation (TF) headquarters, in the federal capital, whereat the TF managing director (MD) Zomma Mohiuddin welcomed the federal minister.

ITTM Haque was given detailed briefing about working and future plans of the TF.

He was apprised about the five-year strategic master plan of TF and the initiatives to be taken under the plan.

ITTM Haque lauded the strategic master plan of the TF.

He said the digital transformation of TF is the reflection of digital Pakistan vision.

ITTM Haque directed TF to establish more schools both in urban and remote areas of the country.

He directed the management of TF to complete all projects in a transparent manner.

ITTM Haque said the digitalisation and provision of broadband services are the topmost priority.

Later on, the ITTM launched the digital transformation of the TF group.

Senior officers of the ITT ministry were present on the occasion.
