IT-T-M Haque assures broadband connectivity in remote areas

ISLAMABAD: The information technology and telecommunications minister (IT-T-M) Syed Amin Ul Haque said, Thursday, that the IT-T ministry through its attached department, universal service fund (USF), is taking initiatives for providing broadband services in distant areas countrywide.

According to an official statement, IT-T-M Haque was talking to defence production minister (DP-M) Zubaida Jalal, who called on him at his office, in the federal capital.

The two ministers discussed IT-T ministry’s projects for providing broadband services in far-flung areas countrywide.

IT-T-M Haque informed that a few days ago contracts were awarded for providing broadband services in faraway areas of Sindh and Balochistan.

He said that the IT-T ministry is committed for broadband penetration countrywide.

DP-M Jalal lauded IT-T ministry’s steps for provision of broadband services countrywide and said the provision of broadband services in remote areas especially those in Balochistan will be a blessing for the people.

IT-T-M Haque assured that all the projects of IT-T ministry will be completed in a timely and transparent manner.
