Hussain in Iran signs bilateral arrangements’ statement

TEHRAN (Iran): At the invitation of Iranian defence minister brigadier general Amir Hatami, defence production minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, on Thursday, led a defence and science delegation to Iran, whereat the two sides signed a joint statement on bilateral arrangements, after deliberating on bilateral issues; an official statement said.

According to detail, both reviewed the bilateral relations and discussed the possibility of cooperation between the defence industries of both countries.

Referring to the statement signed with his Iranian counterpart, Hussain said that it shows Pakistan is deeply interested in expansion of defense cooperation with Iran and seeks new mechanism for formation of joint defense cooperation committee.

Hussain extended an invitation to Hatami for participating in international defence exhibition and seminar (IDEAS) 2018, which was accepted.

He along-with his delegation also held meetings with Iranian vice-president Eshaq Jahangiri.

Hussain along-with his delegation paid respect at the mausoleum of the founder of Islamic revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini.
