Hungarian charge d’ affairs calls on NA speaker

ISLAMABAD: The national assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser underlined to Hungarian charge d’ affairs Tivadar Takacas, Monday, the need for intensifying cooperation in energy and trade sectors for tapping unexplored potential in Pakistan.

According to an official statement, Hungarian charge d’ affairs called on NA speaker, at the parliament house, in the federal capital.

NA speaker Qaiser mentioned to Hungarian charge d’ affairs Takacas that Pakistan attaches immense value to its friendly relations with Hungary and desires for enhancing the cooperation.

He said newer areas of bilateral cooperation are needed to be explored, which will give a boost to already strong ties with Hungary.

NA speaker Qaiser mentioned that there were plenty of investment opportunities in agriculture, energy, tourism and infrastructure in Pakistan that will benefit Hungarian investors.

He appreciated Hungarian scholarship programme for Pakistani students and stressed for an increase in its number with a special focus on students from less developed areas.

Referring to Pakistan-Hungary parliamentary friendship group in the NA, the NA speaker Qaiser said that the group will be an apt opportunity to expand bilateral parliamentary relations.

He said that the exchange of parliamentary delegation will help peoples’ representatives to exchange views and learn from each others’ experiences.

Hungarian charge d’ affairs Takacas responded that his country also strongly desires to strengthen its ties with Pakistan.

He reminded that the Hungarian oil exploration companies have extensively contributed in the hydrocarbon sectors for meeting Pakistan’s energy requirements.

Hungarian charge d’ affairs Takacas said that Hungary was considering exploring new trade markets with the concept of expanding the sphere of its trade for enhancing its business activities.

He agreed that parliamentary interaction will help bring both the countries closer.
