Change will emerge if bureaucracy acts: Khan

LAHORE: Prime minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday held a meeting with Punjab secretaries, in the presence of Punjab chief minister (CM) Usman Buzdar, Khan observed that difficult circumstances require tough decisions; the reform agenda of the incumbent requires wholehearted commitment of the bureaucracy coupled with performance to translate the vision into reality.

According to an official statement, “Your performance will be the only consideration for the incumbent” assuring “We will provide you opportunity and will not interfere in the functional domain,” PM said.

He stressed upon the need for improving governance, service delivery, transparency and promoting merit at all levels in order to capitalise the immense potential of the country.

Referring to the era of 60s, Khan said that we expect civil servants to manifest the same dedication, commitment and professionalism.
