COAS Gen. Bajwa thanks China for the vaccines

RAWALPINDI: The chief of army staff (COAS) general (Gen.) Qamar Javed Bajwa thanked the Chinese ambassador Nong Rong, on Wednesday, for China’s contribution towards the fight against COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the provision of vaccines to Pakistan and said that Pakistan greatly values its friendly relations with its “iron brother” China.

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the ambassador of China to Pakistan called on the COAS at the general headquarters (GHQ) in the garrison city.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the regional security situation including latest developments in the Afghan peace process were discussed.

COAS Gen. Bajwa also felicitated the dignitary for holding the grand ceremony in Beijing on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially in the Afghan peace process.
