CNS ADM Niazi calls on top brass in Bahrain

RAWALPINDI: The chief of naval staff (CNS) admiral (ADM) Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Tuesday, called on the top brass in Bahrain and discussed with them the matters related to maritime security and bilateral defence collaborations.

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the naval chief is on official visit to Bahrain, during the visit, he called on Bahrain Defence Forces (BDF) commander-in-chief (CIC) field marshal (FM) Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain National Guard (BNG) commander major general (Maj.Gen.) Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Royal Bahrain Naval Forces (RBNF) commander rear admiral (rear ADM) Mohammed Yousif Al Asam and United States (US) naval forces central command (NAVCENT) deputy commander (DCdr) rear ADM Curt Renshaw, in separate meetings.

Upon his arrival at RBNF headquarter, the CNS ADM Niazi was received by RBNF commander and a ceremonial guard of honour was presented to him on the occasion. A comprehensive briefing was also given to the naval chief regarding RBNF.

During the separate meetings with military leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain, matters related to maritime security and bilateral defence collaborations were discussed.

The naval chief highlighted Pakistan Navy’s (PN) initiative of regional maritime security patrol (RMSP) and contributions of PN to maintain peace and order at the Indian ocean region (IOR).

The dignitaries greatly appreciated role and contributions of PN in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Later, the naval chief also called on the US NAVCENT DCdr rear ADM Renshaw at the headquarters, they discussed and shared commitment towards the maritime security.

It is expected that the visit of CNS ADM Niazi to Bahrain will greatly enhance bilateral cooperation between both the countries in general and navies in particular.
