LAHORE: The national transmission and despatch company (NTDC) spokesman, Tuesday, said that rehabilitation work of 8 collapsed towers has been completed and power supply to three transmission lines 220 kilo volt (kV) Uch-Shikarpur, 220 kV Uch - Sibbi and 220 kV Guddu-Sibbi restored.

According to an official statement, the towers were damaged due to heavy rains and windstorm during the third week of April 2020 in the Chattar Pungi area of Balochistan.

The suspension of public transport, mobilisation of labour, machinery and severe weather conditions remained a hurdle to complete the said work.

NTDC managing director (MD) Khawaja Riffat Hassan and NTDC deputy MD (DMD) Wajahat Saeed Rana thanked the law enforcement agency (LEA) frontier corps (FC) for providing security to the labour during rehabilitation work.

The NTDC, MD, Hassan and NTDC, DMD, Rana also appreciated the efforts of NTDC engineers, staff and contractors for their untiring efforts to complete the work within minimum possible time.
